Lottie at One Week Old

Lottie's quite a bit bigger than Jim, as it turns out. She was 7lb 7oz at birth, compared to his 6lb 14oz, and by one week old was already around 8lb. Her personality is a fair bit different too. She's terribly social and for the first few weeks was only happy if being held so that she could see somebody's face. Jim, on the other hand, was happy to just lounge around on the couch and stare off into space. She nurses a lot less than he did (15 minutes or so every couple hours, as opposed to his 45 minutes every single hour for the first two months), sleeps more (4-hour stretches already! Hallelujah!), and refuses to even make an effort during tummy time. I knew she would be a different baby than he was, of course, but I didn't expect there to be so many apparent differences so early.


About as alert as you can expect a one-week-old baby to be.
